Clean Teeth Can Lead To Healthier Heart
Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the USA. New research presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Session in November 2011 found that people who have their teeth cleaned by a dentist or hygienist had a 24% lower risk of heart attack and 13% lower risk of stroke. Professional cleanings appear to reduce inflammation-causing bacterial growth that can lead to heart disease or stroke.
If you do have heart disease or have had a stroke, please discuss your condition with your Dr. Wright, Dr. Montgomery or Dr. Repasky on your next visit to our office. We want to be your partner in dental and oral health, and to help support any health concerns you may have.
